Told my wife I was going out for a couple of beers, said I'd see her in a couple of years...
From 1995. Scuzzy, serrated and acerbic midwest rock and roll, that in spite of it's obvious lo-fi aplomb enjoyed major label distribution, thanks to the post-Nirvana hoopla it was inherent to.
Another band i would never have expected to see featured in Willfully Obscure! These guys crack me up. I really like them, with their resigned, yet somehow-also-passionate-and-clever sardonic disdain for . . . well, everything. But i've always felt that under all the scuzz and fuzz, there's actually some pretty decent guitar work and appealing guitar tones (especially on this recording), thereby saving what would otherwise be a difficult-at-best listening experience. Fun stuff!
