Remnants bore an approachable demeanor, certainly disqualifying them from the darkwave neighborhood. Synths are prominent, but don't overpower any of this tape's five selections. And while not uniformly stimulating, dashes of genius color the chiming, noir-tinged "On Your Own," leaving me to ponder what else could have become of Remnants had their tenure been a bit more prolonged.
