Well, Bruce #1, I'm intrigued. From the description this was a period when I followed Boston music pretty closely, although I didn't get out as much as I now wish I had. (But I DID have a good excuse for why I was more than content to stay at home.)
Well, Bruce #2, I was Music Director at 'FNX. I had a ringside seat to the shenanigans. Being the 1st release on U2's Mother Records, the advance hype was considerable and the local appetite was unusually high. Boston was after all one of U2's initial toehold here in the States.
For a brief moment in time these guys were huge in Boston. As good as the album was, they were twice as good live...
