Knowing nothing about this band (and only vaguely remembering the name) -- if this disk of demos and b-sides is any indication of the quality of their *released* material, I've been missing out!
Hello, excellent blog I've recently rediscovered after a few years being away. So much I missed out on. If I could make a request, is there any way you can repost all of the I-Rails material that you have? I recently discovered some of their songs, and would love to get a hold of it when you get the chance. Thanks much!
I absolutely adore some Manics stuff, but find myself really cold on others. In this matter, I find their strengths are as an album band, and thus their b-sides, while occasionally interesting, are more miss than hit. But having said that, I've got the Lipstick Traces b-sides and covers collection, and the b-sides are almost uniformly better than than the covers, except for the McCarthy one.
If you can snare a second hand copy of the Simon Price biography 'Everything' (which goes up to This Is My Truth), you must, an amazing story.

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely you have! Dive into their third and fourth albums, "Holy Bible" and a "Design for Life" and go from there.

ReplyDeleteWill try to refresh the I-Rails links soon.
