It was clearly never meant to be.

From 1997.  The debut album from one of my favorite singer/songwriters.

Never heard of this person before (or if I did, I didn't remember). This is very good. A good overall sound and approach, but with enough variation of both. Some pretty clever lines have come through even on the first listen when I usually don't pick up on stuff like that.

Unless the thrill diminishes on subsequent listening, definitely a subject for further research for me.

Thannks.

I encountered this bloke in 1997 on CBC Radio whilst I was making a pizza delivery run. Nice fringe benefit of that job, eh? His second and third albums are just as rewarding. Glad you liked it.

I never got around to getting this one, due to several unflattering reviews I read about it. That was my mistake. It's not as polished as some of the LPs to follow, but in this genre, that can be a big plus! This is much better than I was led to believe. I never understood why he isn't as big as many of the known names in this genre. A pity.

I'm very glad you posted this. Thanks!
