Some bands opt not to make the same album twice, and others go so far as to not make the same song twice. Though decidedly left-of-the-dial throughout, White Glove Test's LEAP vaguely falls into that latter category. Post-punk experimentalists at heart, this San Marcos, CA quartet run the gamut from noir, indie guitar skirmishes to starkly more insular and intimate forays. Despite this amount of breadth WGT have me at a near total loss for any easy or meaningful comparisons. Even more challenging, LEAP isn't overtly catchy, but “Poignant” and "Bycycle" arouse just enough curiosity to make the occasionally spotty remainder more appealing to explore. Side two is blemished with more than it's fair share of static and surface noise, so I may have another go of cleaning this wax again, or better yet, tracking down a smoother playing copy.

WOW!-This was my brother's band (Tony Davis). They broke up some time after due to... Your copy is missing the fake ending in the last song "Every Day" The song fades out after the five minute mark and fades back in to a cold ending with a Firesign Theater sample to end the album with. A lot of people thought WGT was Savage Republic masquerading as a psych band! The naked guy on the cover was a good friend of the band. Nice to know that their are fans of the record out in the world.-radiofreedavis (RIP-Ken)
Hey Michael. Thanks for commenting. I know what you're talking about regarding the fake ending of "Every Day." Not sure why I left it out. Glad I was able to give the band a little exposure.
Your welcome-I told Jeff (guitar player) about your post and here is his response: "Hey...how cool is that! It only took, what 23 years to get noticed!"-Mike
After Pandoras song, second track side b, in this moment, after 17 years after 1989 i listening this album. Excellent and "particoolar" musicians. In a first time in Between the oars, second track side one, i think:"White gloves test, i'm sorry for my delay!" and now i hope to try a first vinyl album...
